The genus Noccidium F.K. Mey. shows no nearer connections to the remaining species of Thlaspi L. s.str. as it could be confirmed similarly in the genera Neurotropis (DC.) F.K. MEY., Microthlaspi F.K. MEY., Thlaspiceras F.K. Mey., and will be confirmed in the genera Callothlaspi F.K. Mey., Raparia F.K. Mey., Noccaea MOENCH etc. which will be revised next. These systematic positions had been confirmed by ITS nrDNA sequence datas, too. Only a near connection seems to exist from Noccidium to Kotschyella F.K. MEY., the genus which will be shown in the next following contribution. In Noccidium F.K. Mey. the shape of the siliculose fruits is something elongated and they have in their upper part distinct hornlike till to broader outgrowings in sideward direction. Also, similar to species of the genus Iberis L. and as in Microthlaspi natolicum (BOISS.) F.K. Mey., the petals are of different size, i.e. the two outward standing petals are bigger and so oneside-actinomorphic. The cells of the seed-coat are small and without special conspicuous developments. The two species of the genus Noccidium differ in their growth form, the form of their roots, and in the possible emergences on the surface of their stem.
