After a first publication as „nomen nudum“ (SCHWARZ 1975) the Bulgarian Soldanella cyanaster O. SCHWARZ is described under the rules using a manuscript left by O. SCHWARZ. In connection with this a critical overlook over the SE- and E-European species of the genus Soldanella L. is given by comparison of newer collections and the older stock of the Herbarium Haussknecht, Jena (JE). As a main result in sect. Soldanella are described the new series Pindicae F. K. MEYER and the new species Soldanella pseudomontana F. K. MEYER from the Carpathian mountains, S. stiriaca F. K. MEYER from SE-Austria, S. macedonica F. K. MEYER from western Macedonia, S. rhodopaea F. K. MEYER from the Rhodope mountains. In the sect. Tubiflores BORB. are described as new ser. Pusillae F. K. MEYER, and the new species S. pirinica F. K. MEYER. Since S. pusilla BAUMG. from the southern Carpathian mountains was recognized as a different species the relative of the Alps had to be described newly as S. alpicola F. K. MEYER. So the genus Soldanella L. consists in sect. Soldanella of 3 series with 11 species, and in sect. Tubiflores BORB. in 5 species. A key for determination of the 16 Soldanella-species is given.
