Die Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek (DDB) und das eng damit verbundene Archivportal-D nehmen in der Archivcommunity eine zentrale Rolle ein. Gerade durch die Möglichkeit des spartenübergreifenden Austauschs bringen sie eine Vielzahl an positiven Entwicklungen voran, ohne dabei die Einbindung der Archivcommunity, gerade auch der kleineren Einrichtungen, aus den Augen zu verlieren. Dies war und wird möglich durch die gut verzahnte Zusammenarbeit der strategischen Ausrichtung über die archivischen Gremien, der damit eng verbundenen Rolle der DDB als Katalysator im Bereich von Standardisierung und Entwicklung und der daran orientierten Fachstellenarbeit im Archivbereich. Gerade die konkrete Umsetzung dieser Entwicklungen durch die Fachstelle Archiv ist hier hervorzuheben.

The Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek (DDB) and the directly linked Archivportal-D play a crucial role for the archive community. The possibility for cross-institution exchange that they have created means that they can support many positive new developments without overlooking the archive community itself, especially the smaller institutions. This is facilitated by well-coordinated collaboration on the strategic orientation by the archive bodies, the closely linked role of the DDB as a catalyst in the field of standardisation and development and the work of the Specialist Archive Department (»Fachstelle Archiv«) based on this. Special mention is made here of the concrete implementation of these developments by this department.
