Forschungsinformationssysteme sind anspruchsvolle Bestandteile aktueller und künftiger Informationsinfrastrukturen. Der Beitrag gibt einen kurzen Überblick über die Vielfalt der eingesetzten Systeme und über einige der damit verbundenen Akzeptanzfragen. Die Bibliotheken müssen als Dienstleister den Forschungszyklus von der Publikation bis zur Datensicherung nachhaltig unterstützen.

Research information systems are sophisticated components of current and future information infrastructures. The article provides a brief outline of the wide variety of systems used and of some of the related acceptance issues. As service providers, libraries need to support the research cycle on a permanent basis from publication through to data backup.
