Irregular intensity patterns have been generated numerically in a model consisting of coupled resonators including an extra bandwidth-limiting element. The emission properties in the lasing state considered are characterized by complex-plane representations of the field amplitude especially by a stroboscopic map. Characteristic features of the output pulses are analyzed by calculated power spectrum, autocorrelation function, and attractor dimension. Low-frequency components, anticorrelated behavior, and a low-dimensional strange attractor have been found revealing the chaotic nature of the dynamic behavior of the system studied.
