Synchronization Phenomena in Arrays of Two Josephson Junctions
Within the frame of the RSJ model we investigate the synchronization of the oscillations of two Josephson junctions biased separately and shunted by a resonator. Using an adiabatic approximation to the first order of the mismatch the basic equations of the slowly varying phases are derived. These equations allow us to calculate the explicite shape of the current-voltage characteristic and the radiation properties in the locking region of the array. It is also possible to determine the phase locking range in the case of an additionally applied alternating current. The modification of the internal coupling caused by the external force is discussed by concidering the stability of the solutions.
