The electric properties of anisotropic conductors with rectangular sample geometry are studied theoretically. The sample can be mapped on an isotropic conductor by applying the transformation of coordinates reported by VAN DER PAUW. The boundary problem is twodimensional under the conditions described and is solved by conformal mapping using the SCHWARZ-CHRISTOFFEL transformation. Numerical results are given for the boundary potential and conductivity. The electric field is shown for a special case.
