In the Newtonian theory of gravitation only negative sources of gravity are existent. However, for an infinite universe with a mean density of matter ρ ≠ 0 consistent states are only possible if the mean densities of positive and negative sources are balanced. - The general relativistic cosmology gives possibilities for physical interpretations of the positive sources.
