An open anisotropic world model with a negative space curvature as suggested by HECKMANN and SCHÜCKING is considered. The results of the analysis show that shear in such a model decreases as time increases, its magnitude varying reciprocally with the third power of the function <I>R</I>(<I>t</I>). Further, the red shift occurs not only due to expansion but also due to shear. A solution of the "generalized" FRIEDMANN equation is given and its asymptotic behaviour for both small and large values of time is discussed.
