Classical VAN HOVE correlation functions and their double FOURIER-transform, i.e. the scattering laws, are investigated. Reduced correlation functions are introduced in analogy of the theory of transport coefficients in classical systems. Some simple models are discussed with this formalism. The scattering law for the VLASOV-model is calculated and a new model is proposed. Thereby the locale interaction potential is splitted in a weak long-range and a strong short-range part. The short-range repulsion is represented by a BG-term and the weak long-range potential by a VLASOV-term. This model is compared with experiments for argon.
