Das Leitfähigkeits-Temperatur-Verhalten von festem und flüssigem Selen wird wesentlich durch die Reinheit des Selens bestimmt und wird bei hochgereinigtem Selen offenbar wesentlich durch Sauerstoff-Einbau beeinflußt. Aus der gut reproduzierbaren (log σ - 1/T)-Geraden für im Vakuum (~ 10<sup>-3</sup>mm) im Temperaturbereich von 100°C bis zum Schmelzpunkt untersuchtes Reinselen wird ein ε-Wert von 2,2 - 2,9 eV gemessen. Ob der Mittelwert von 2,6 eV dem Band-Band-Übergang entspricht, ist aus Leitfähigkeits-Messungen allein nicht entscheidbar.
